Concord Nkabinde
(Bass Guitar/Acoustic Guitar/Vocals)
Concord Nkabinde, who received the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Jazz in 2006, began his pursuit of music as a kid in his hometown of Soweto. Later he completed his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studied and worked as a full-time music teacher. However, performing live led him to working with SA icons such as Abdullah Ibrahim(SA), Johnny Clegg(SA), Miriam Makeba(SA), Ladysmith Black Mambazo(SA), Black(UK), Roy Ayers(USA), Peter Gabriel(UK), Theuns Jordaan(SA), Danny K(SA) & many more. Today Nkabinde is a well-travelled, well respected and an in-demand musician as a Bass Guitarist, Musical Director, Composer and Arranger.
Brendan Ross

Brendan is a highly sort after saxophonist who has many years of professional performance experience both in South Africa and internationally. Ross is a well-respected musician who has worked, recorded and toured with the best of South African and international artists including: Johnny Clegg (SA), Ladysmith Black Mambazo (SA), Peter Gabriel (UK), Concord Nkabinde (SA), Dan Siegel (USA), Robbie Jansen (SA), Soweto string quartet (SA), Vikki Sampson (SA), Theuns Jordaan (SA), Vusi Maglasela (SA), The National Symphony Orchestra (SA), Claire Johnston of Mango Groove (SA), Juanita Duplessis (SA), Robin Walsh (SA), Lionel Bastos (SA), Kate Normington (SA/UK), Laurika Rauch (SA), Mathys Roets (SA), Vusi Khumalo (SA), Anna Davel (SA), V. (SA), TK (SA), Jennifer Jones (SA).
THE DUO:
The two musicians began working together as members of the Johnny Clegg band in 2000. Together they performed, recorded and toured internationally with Clegg for 6 years. It is out of that period that the musical friendship began.
This is a fresh and an intimate rendition of musical classics as well as original compositions, performed passionately by 2 friends. This collaboration by Nkabinde & Ross, who both have achieved high recognition & respect within the South African music industry, is a true testimony of how “Unity in diversity” can be achieved. Coming from two different backgrounds, Brendan & Concord have embraced common values: respect & love for life in order to produce such a soothing musical experience.
The Duo have performed to many diverse South African audiences and have received great reception, proving once again that through “Unity in Diversity” we can build an amazing country and a better world
