Four Man Act discovered their affinity in high school when they sang together in the school choir at Mapetla High School in Soweto in 1992. Though tracks like “KARABO”, stunning live performances and incredible harmonies Four Man Act steadily built an identity for themselves. After a show for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund at a banquet for the launch of Frock and Roll attended by Naomi Campbell, Zinzi Mandela and many other celebrities, Four Man Act finally got the attention of the mainstream market which lead to a phenomenal year for the group as they receive a nominated in R&B category at the Metro FM Awards, conducted numerous television appearances, performing at the Miss SA Teen and the Caxton Miss Teen, a national tour for Vodacom’s 4U product launch, performed with the cast of ISINDINGO at Carnival City for the Variety Club etc.

Yet amongst all of these achievements, by far the most exciting thing to happen to the group that year was the transition to DENIM! With the incorporation of a fifth member, the Lyrical Sangoma with Shaggy style rapping and intense harmonies the dynamics of the group have grown to a new level and truly project the calibre of their music.

DENIM quickly won over the support of local audience with their close harmony, original songs and energetic stage performance. Their act is well choreographed, energetic and a joy to watch. Synchronised moves give full physical expression to high energy of their vocal rhythms. Their repertoire spans a wide range of rhythms and styles which include close knit accapela songs, heart-felt ballads, hot rocking dance numbers and specially chosen covers such as: Lets Go Dancing, Reggae Night, The Beat Goes On, My Girl, Kiss and Say Goodbye, Get Down On It, In The Still of the Night and When the Going Gets Tough.

In May 2002 DENIM stepped into the international arena when they travelled to Europe to perform at a few selected shows. During this trip the group was met with such incredible support that just four months later they went back, this time with a full schedule of events and shows that kept them in Switzerland for and entire month performing at over fourteen shows in some of the hottest clubs in Zurich, various festivals and international conferences, conducted numerous public appearance and media interviews and shot a music video for their new single LET’S GO DANCING!

DENIM submitted their first single LET’S GO DANCING (Kool & The Gang) to the various radio stations, television channels and media with phenomenal success. The track was play listed on Highveld Stereo, YFM, Lesedi FM, Kaya FM and is currently being played on various other stations, they have done interviews with Castle Loud, Selimathunzi, Channel O, Take 5, E-TV Morning Live, Backstage, The Kasper Rasper Show, All You Need Is Love and more newspapers and magazines than we can mention.

DENIM are renowned in the corporate market and have performed at events for Dimension Data, Hollard Insurance, Clientele Life, Discovery Health, Standard Bank, the World Cup Cricket, Vodacom, Travel Bags, SAB, The Mine Works Development, National Brands, The Sunday Times Edcon etc.
