TRESOR RIZIKY (Born Riziki Mukengerwa TRESOR in April 24, 1986) is a Congolese singer and songwriter who performs under his third name "TRESOR". He is the soulful voice from the heart of Africa.Born in Goma (East DRC) to a modern Christian family , TRESOR currently lives in South Africa. His style is greatly influenced by soul music, afro beat, reggae, RnB, fusion, rock and world music. Among his favorites are Lokua Kanza, Corneille, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Sting, Papa Wemba, Youssou N'dour, Stevie Wonder,Carlos santana, Michael Jackson,Tracy Chapman, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Seal,Freshlyground and anything which moves my his soul.In 2007, after he met and jammed with Lokua Kanza, he decided to leave D R Congo to pursue his music in a much more developed industry. He moved to Durban, South Africa where he hooked up with Rod Nichols (owner of Face Studios) via the internet and formed MAISHA, a multinational world music band which released it debut album STOP THE WAR in 2009 with the majority of the songs written by him. TRESOR sings in Swahili, French and English. Maria, one of Maisha's songs written by TRESOR, was quickly play listed on the local station, East Coast Radio, and enjoys weekly plays.In less then 2 years in South Africa, thousands of music lovers have discovered the treasure hidden in this amazing singer with a golden voice and unique performances. As the lead singer of Maisha, TRESOR shared stages with many great South African and international artists such as the long time star Eddy Grant, the Grammy award winners Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the popular Freshly Ground, Prime Circle, Gold Fish ,Capsolys, Tree 63, to name few. He also appeared with Maisha in great local events and festivals such as Splashy Fen 2008/2009, Celebrate Durban 2008, White Mountain Festival 2008, Zulu Royal Festival 2008, Glenwood Festival 2008, Margate Festival 2009, Zini Festival 2009, Mandela day Concert 2009 and many more...In 2009 he began to pursue a solo career while still in Maisha as front man and acoustic guitarist. He worked on various charity projects including writing and recording a song for “DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS” which was used in their documentary "WOUNDS”.TRESOR is an ambassador of the international music social networking organization, THE PLANET MUSIC, which is based in Paris, France.TRESOR is working on many exciting underground projects while still pushing hard with Maisha, spreading the message of One Love, Peace, Tolerance, Harmony and Understanding
